Hello CoastEC Family,Some great news - it's official! We've signed a contract and put a deposit down to buy some land so CoastEC can build a ministry facility on! This has been something we've planned towards for 8 years, and an anonymous donor has given us enough money to pay for it outright (with some left over to go towards construction!). Such an amazing gift hey! Please join me in thanking God for his outrageous provision!
The land is just over the road from the school, and God willing will become a hub for gospel ministry in the region for years to come. The land hasn't been subdivided yet, and it may take somewhere between 3-18 months. When the subdivision goes thru, we will settle, and then be the proud owners of the land. Over the next 18 months we will have plenty of time to do some master planning of the site; get draft designs happening, and start fundraising for stage 1 of the building. Please pray for wisdom for our Admin Committee as they navigate some new territory. And ask God to provide everything we'll need to proceed down this exciting path!
STAFF TEAM UPDATE (Music / Ministry Teams)
Chris has started interviewing some people for our next staff position and he has some more interviews lined up in the next month or so. Please pray for God to raise up the right person for the job, and to give us wisdom as we seek to identify and appoint them.
God willing, CoastEC will employ a new full time staff member next year to oversee all our ministry teams and music ministry. They will have particular responsibility for all our Sunday gatherings, and will co-ordinate the large and growing number of volunteers who are using their gifts to serve the Lord and His church. This will help us start strong when we kick off our next congregation up at Hallidays (early 2018?), and stay strong as we maintain and grow our existing ministries. They will basically recruit volunteers, support & train our drivers to build and lead their teams, and oversee our music ministry across all our services.
This position will funded by a combination of 4 things. Firstly, Savings. Over the last few years, we've been able to save some $ towards this because we've had some very generous donors from outside the church give us some money. Secondly, a Grant. We've successfully applied for a grant which will provide roughly a third of the cost for the next 3 years. Thirdly, Staff External Donors. All our pastoral staff are expected to raise about 30% of their own wages from outside the church (eg asking their Christian friends, family, other churches to support them). Fourthly, Local Giving. There will be an increase in our budget for next year, so we'll be seeking to raise some more funds locally. Our hope is that God will use this person to bring significant growth to the church, and that after 3 or 4 years we will be able to fully fund this position ourselves.
