Chris Ekins is married to Sharon, and they have three kids (Caleb, Hannah and Chloe). Chris loves Jesus, teaching the Bible, fishing and soccer. He catches as many fish as he scores goals...he is a fullback. Chris finished his Bachelor of Theology at Moore Theological College in 1996. He served on the staff of St Faith's Anglican Church at Narrabeen from 1996-2008. And in Feb 2009 he and his family moved to Forster with 5 other mates to start CoastEC. Chris' passion is to see people come to know Jesus and to grow in their love for him as they study God's Word. His vision is for CoastEC to start several more churches on the Mid-North Coast of NSW. Dev Blair joined the team in Jan 2013. He's married to AJ, and they have four kids (Kaylee, Judah, Summer and Crosby). Before moving to Forster, Dev worked in Christian camping ministry for 10 years focusing on leadership development and team dynamics. Dev then completed his Bachelor of Theology at SMBC. He oversees our purpose area of Maturity where he is responsible for looking after our Home Group community and their leaders. He also leads our focus areas of Mens' Ministry, Women's Ministry, Youth Ministry and our GAP Year Program. His desire is to see every member of CoastEC growing in Christlikeness and deepening their love for God and His beautiful Word!. He loves instant coffee, rugby, meat and looking like Brad Pitt.....or, Ryan Gosling, depending on the angle. (Day off Saturday)
Pete Flower, having moved to Forster in 2001, became part of the CoastEC team at the end of 2015. He is married to Stephanie and they currently have seven children in their family: Boaz, Petra, Eden, Chenoa, Levi, Levi and Josiah. Pete has a real love for Jesus and longs to see others get to meet and know Him. Pete loves a good coffee, watching his kids play sport, and sitting around having a chat. Pete completed his Bachelor of Divinity at Moore Theological College in 2000 and then did a further 2 years part time at the Presbyterian College in Burwood. He is now part way through a diploma of Christian Counselling with the Australian Institute of Family Counselling. Pete has previously ministered with a couple of the local churches and has been involved with the indigenous community for many years. Pete is working with our kid’s church team as they seek to connect with children in the community and their families. He is also looking at planting a kid’s church on the local Aboriginal Mission. (Work days Wednesday and Sunday)
Heather joined the team in March 2015. She is married to Dave and they have 3 kids (Jackson, Ethan and Toby). She loves cooking, sewing, the beach and good coffee. Before moving to Forster in 2003, Heather was the office manager at Open Doors Australia. Heather is our Office Manager and works in the office 2 days a week trying to keep everyone organised! (Work days Wednesdays and Fridays).
Joel Hill is married to Hannah and they have four kids (Amy, Finnegan, John, and Albert). Since studying at Ridley Theological College they’ve been working with Bush Church Aid in Roxby Downs (a remote mining community). In 2017 Joel and his family are moving to Taree and joining the crew at CoastEC to begin a church planting apprenticeship. He loves rock climbing, having a crack at being handy, and getting stuck into the Bible, the bread and butter of Christian life with people, seeing them respond to Jesus and grow to the glory and praise of God. (Day off: Friday)
Marty joined Coast EC at the start of 2018 and looks after Ministry and Music. He is married to Aimee and they have 2 children, Gideon and Maisy. Before moving up to Forster they lived in Southern and then Western Sydney, and most recently Marty was a product designer for Canva in Surry Hills. Marty has a passion for music and seeing God's people both glorify Him and build each other up through song. He also loves good coffee, good music and playing soccer (while he still can!). Marty's day off is Tuesday.
