Can you believe that CoastEC has just turned 4 years old! I can hardly believe it myself because so much has happened in that time that. God has grown my family (I still one amazing wife, but now have 3 adventurous little kids!) And God has grown His Church (2 youth groups, 2 church services, 4 staff, 4 kids church classes, 15 bible study groups, and 150 people). Thanks so much for your partnership - your prayers, finances and encouragement are priceless. Here are some prayer points from the other staff.
Chris (on behalf of CoastEC).
1. Ministry (Dev)
Thanks for your prayers as the Blair tribe has been settling into Forster life really well! Praise God for the blessings of a great church family who have gone to every effort to make us feel welcome! As God is growing His church we are seeing more and more people plugged into ministry teams. As we have been studying Ephesians we have seen that God has prepared good works for us to do in His name, so it's a blessing as each Ministry Roster goes out to see people keen to build the kingdom. Please pray that God continues to place it on people's hearts to be effective and purposeful parts of His Body!
2. Maturity (Dev)
There is heaps happening within our Home Groups Community! We kicked off the year with just over 110 people in groups and more people are being invited and joining as the months go by! We are getting an increasing number of young adults from Taree coming to the Sunday services, so in Term 2 we are starting a new Home Group up that way which there is a lot of excitement about! (We are hoping this will form the core of a new church plant up that in the next few years). As groups are growing there is a pressing need for more Leaders, so please pray that God raises up godly people who will lead and love their new groups!
3. Membership (Megan)
Night Church has kicked off well and we have seen a steady flow of new people joining CoastEC. Praise God that our Newish bbq’s have gone well and people have felt welcomed into the church family. Pray that God will help these people to get linked into home groups and that they will continued to be welcomed into the family and get to know God better.
4. Mission (Ruth)
The year has kicked off cranking with 3 home groups and junior youth already been trained in Testifying to the amazing Work God has done in their personal life and now preparing to be ready to give an answer for the reason for the hope we have in Christ. 5 more groups are booked in over the next 3 months to be trained.
5. Kids Church (Megan)
Please pray for kids church as it transitions into a new structure in Term 2. There is a good core group of kids that are coming along. Please pray that the kids will get to know Jesus as they come along and would be inviting their friends to come and get to know Jesus too. Please pray that God will be raising up more leaders for kids church.
6. Youth (Ruth)
Praise God for the new venue of the YMCA for Rock (senior high). Heaps of the guys have been inviting friends along and helping the group to have grown, with up to 26 coming some weeks and having contact with over 36 senior high youth. We have been working through the gospel of mark and many are hearing the truth for the first time! Please pray for God to raise up more leaders.
7. Helping the poor and needy
We have just launched a new ministry to help people who are struggling to manage their money. We are partnering with Christians Against Poverty to run CAP Money – a free money management course (designed to help free people from debt – both financial and spiritual). We’re also raising money for a ‘love bomb’ fund to assist those in serious and urgent financial crisis. If you’d like to contribute to that, please make a direct deposit into the church account and label the gift ‘love bomb’. Please pray for us to connect well with people and to give them a practical demonstration of God’s love and outrageous generosity to the needy.
