Hey friends of CoastEC!Its hard to believe another year is almost up.
I'm thankful to God for my beautiful family!
And I'm amazed at how God keeps growing His church!
Thanks for your friendship, prayers, encouragement and generosity.
Here's a few things to keep you in loop so you can pray for us.
God bless ya!
Chris (on behalf of CoastEC)
We've just wrapped up our LIFE series at both Blackhead and Forster.
Please pray for those who attended to take the next step (especially Miranda, Will, Chris, Meg, Justin, Lauren, Michelle, David, Noel, Alex and Mary). Ask God to give them new life in Jesus.
We had the joy of baptising Robyn from our Hallidays congregation and Lisa, Josh and Juliette at Forster. Josh only started coming to church a few months ago and let us know he was a committed atheist. But Jesus grabbed hold of him real quick and made him His!
Check out this short vid to see the beautiful place we get to dunk our crew!
Pete has been serving us faithfully in this role and we've seen our Kids Ministry flourish under him. We've now got about 90 kids involved in our regular programs! Pete is stepping down as Kids Pastor in Feb to work full time in his own counselling business. We will miss him on staff, but he's staying on at church.
So, we're trying to work out if we can afford to employ another Kids Pastor next year. If you'd like to help sponsor a new Kids Pastor for us, we're seeking some large donations (either one-off or regular ongoing). Please let me know if you're in a position to invest in this amazing ministry. It will be money well spent! (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Praise God for the impact our Gospel Apprenticeship Program has had on the young adults who we've invested in.
Jason had only been a Christian for a few months before he started GAP, and its been so good watching him grow and mature as a Christian man, servant and leader.
Gemma and Lauren have also grown heaps as Christian women, and they've been amazing
Pray for the 4 new GAPers coming on board in 2019 - Makahley, Nadia, Lisa and Jimmy.
Ask God to shape their character, and grow them in gospel convictions, clarity and effectiveness.
If you know someone finishing year 12 at the end of 2019 who might be interested in our 2020 GAP program, please get in touch with Dev Blair - email@example.com
SUMMERLIFE (start of Jan)Please pray for the SUFM mission team that are coming to Forster at the start of January to share the good news of Jesus with the youth of our town.
Ask for safety for the team, and appropriate boldness as they seek to share the gospel.
Pray for the locals on team to do a great job of following up those we contact.
FINANCESStarting new churches, employing staff, and building a ministry facility are all bold steps of faith which require wisdom, courage, sacrifice and some serious money!
I thank God for the amazing generosity and sacrifice so many of you have made that have enabled CoastEC to have the impact it has.
If you're not already a financial partner, please prayerfully consider setting up regular direct giving to our church - details are HERE
Please also give generously towards our Kids Pastor or Building Fund (and tag any gifts with 'kids' or 'building').
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart"
WOMEN"S EVENT (12th Dec)Please pray that many women come and meet some Christians and have some fun.
Ask God to be softening their hearts and making them open to exploring Jesus at Christmas.
CHRISTMAS SERVICES (24th Dec)We can't wait to celebrate God entering our world to give us Himself!
Pray that many locals and holiday makers would join us.
Ask that this Christmas, many come to put their trust in Jesus and to accept his gift of eternal life.
LAND & BUILDINGWe've paid a deposit on the block of land next to Forster Public School, and it looks like we can settle in January when the subdivision gets completed.
We're dreaming about building our own facility on the block, and God willing, we'll engage an architect in 2019 to help bring our ideas to life. Ask for a good relationship with a great architect!
In the meantime, we need to address a range of facility constraints. The office is too small for our growing staff team and mid-week events; and the local squash court where our youth group & kids club meet has been sold and may not be available next year so we may need to find a bunch of alternate venues. The school we meet in at Forster for church services will also be increasing out rent, and also losing some of their demountables which will impact our kids ministry.
