Youth Ministry Update – June 2011

Just over 2 years ago the COAST EC Youth Ministry started with 1 definite kid attending...and by God's grace the Youth Ministry has grown to over 30 kids who are keen to learn about our awesome God!

We're stoked at the way God is working in the youth of Forster-Tuncurry, and we'd love to give you an update on where things are at in this developing ministry...

On Friday arvo's at the Guides Hall in Forster, COAST EC has the privilege of running 2 youth groups – Grommets (for yr 5-6) and Wired (for yr 7-10), PLUS on Tuesday arvo's there is a high school girls homegroup called 'chicks'. For more details on these groups please visit - www.coastec.net.au/youth

By the amazing power of God's Word, each of these groups are cranking along! Last week one of the youth kids parents told me that "They can no longer go away for a weekend and leave on a Friday arvo's because their child doesn't want to miss youth group", we had a giggle and she was very happy her children are keen to be part of the youth ministry and learn about God.

Over the past 2 yrs we’ve had the amazing privilege of seeing about 12 kids come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour – How good is that?! And we are pleased to tell you that the that core Christian groups are developing in each youth group, as the kids continue to grow in their friendship with Jesus!

Knowing that all this has only happened by God's hand, we’d LOVE your prayers for the following:

Praise God that the youth leadership team has doubled this year! We’re stoked that Beck and Ruth have joined the team, and are keen to get some more male leaders equipped and involved soon

Praise God for the youth community that’s developing ('Back Row Bandits' are taking over the back rows of the Sunday church service!)

Please Pray for the youth kids, that they'll grow a deeper understanding and love of Jesus

Please also pray for us, that as we oversee it this great ministry, we'll have energy and wisdom
