Prayer Update (Dec/Jan 2020)

Hey Friends,

It's been a heavy few weeks with lots of fires, smoke, road closures, evacuations, and venues becoming unavailable. Some of our people sustained significant damage to properties, but thankfully everyone was kept safe.
Here's a pic of what's left of John's shed. Our church trailer usually lives next to it where the black spot is, but one of our Roadeez team was able to move it before the fire came.

At times like this, we’re reminded about how small and fragile we really are.
We’re thankful that no lives have been lost
We're thankful for all the hard work of the firies and other emergency services
We're thankful for the generosity of many in our town and church who gave generously and donated goods and services to those who were fire affected.
We're thankful that God is still in control, and that He still commands the winds and the waves.
Please pray for those who have experienced loss – that they'd be comforted and provided for
Please pray for those who have been shaken - that this would drive them to our Mighty Fortress, Shield and Rock
Please pray for us to know how we can personally serve and bless others who have been affected
Here's a link to the service we ran on the Sunday after the worst it, if you're interested in hearing some music, a sermon and some prayers.

What's been happening?

We've just finished running our 4 week LIFE series at 'The Balcony' cafe.
(Unfortunately we had to cancel LIFE up at Hallidays because of the fires).
But at Forster we had good vibes and heaps of visitors came along and heard the gospel!
Pray that God would open hearts and minds, and that they'd respond with faith and repentance.
Pray for us as we seek to keep pointing them to Jesus and grounding them in the basics.
Stay tuned....hopefully new life will given and celebrated with baptisms!

Coming Up

Please pray that many women come and have some fun, and meet some Christians.
Ask God to be softening their hearts and making them open to exploring Jesus at Christmas.

We can't wait to celebrate God entering our world to give us Himself!
Pray that many locals and holiday makers would join us.
Ask that this Christmas, many come to put their trust in Jesus and to accept his gift of eternal life.
SUMMER LIFE (Start of January)

Please pray for the SUFM mission team that are coming to Forster at the start of January to share the good news of Jesus with the youth of our town.
Ask for safety for the team, and appropriate boldness as they seek to share the gospel.
Pray for the locals on team to do a great job of following up those we contact.
After many years of praying, planning and training, we are sending off Joel & Hannah Hill with a launch team to plant Manning Bible Church (MBC) in Taree (40 minutes north of Forster).
Joel will start full time with MBC in January to work particularly with the launch team.
They are currently working towards a public launch with their first service scheduled for Sunday 15th March.
There are 50,000 souls in the Manning Valley.
Please pray for God to draw many to Himself!
Please also pray for CoastEC as we feel the loss of sending great people and the cost of financially stretching ourselves to give this a red hot go.

We are excited to re-boot our MTS program with both Codan and Lisa.
Codan is our first home-grown MTSer (who started coming to CoastEC youth group about 9 years ago).
Lisa will be coming from Canada (she previously did a GAP year with us, and decided she wants to explore full time ministry now!)
Pray that God would continue to raise up the next generation of leaders, and that we'd do a good job of identifying and training them.

As we head down the path of building our own ministry facilities, we are aware of the crazy cost. Its daunting. Help!
Some great news!!! You can now make tax deductible donations towards the 'Sunday School' portion of our facilities.
So please dig deep and help us get this thing done!
You can make one off donations or set up regular giving here:
Bank: Westpac BSB: 032 543 Account No: 29194
Tax receipts will be issued after July 30 (so tag your giving with your surname, and if we don't have your contact details, please email them to [email protected] along with a reference to your donation)
Philippians 1:3-7
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart"
