Prayer Update (Oct/Nov 2018)

Hey friends!

Its almost been 10 years since we moved to Forster with Caleb, Tom, Ali, Ev, Leesh and Stu to start CoastEC! What a ride!
God has grown my family. Sharon and I are so thankful for Caleb, Hannah and Chloe!

God has also grown His church. Its hard to believe that almost 350 people are now attending one of our church services, home groups, kids church or youth group. So much to be thankful for! And a whole new level of crazy.
Thanks for your friendship, prayers and generosity!
Here's a few things to keep you in loop so you can pray for us.
God bless ya!
Chris (on behalf of CoastEC)

What's been happening?
We recently held our annual Dream & Scheme day where we get everyone together for the afternoon. We refocus on our vision, reflect on what's been happening, share some plans for the future, invite questions and suggestions, pray for God to grow His church, have a combined service, and then eat pizza for dinner!
Personally, I reckon it's one of the best days of the year. It's so exciting to be part of a church with so many great people who are like-minded in their desire to make more and better disciples of Jesus, and who make such valuable suggestions for how we can improve and refine our plans.
We talked about planting a new church in Taree in 2019-20.

We also dreamed about building our own facility on the block of land next to Forster Public School. In the meantime, we need to address a range of facility constraints. The office is too small for our growing staff team and mid-week events; the local squash court where our youth group & kids club meet has been sold, and so has the cafe we've run our LIFE series at for the last 7 years - so we'll need to find a bunch of alternate venues; and the school we meet in at Forster will also be losing some demountables which will impact our kids ministry.

I've been reflecting on all this in light of some Proverbs:
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil (Proverbs 3:5-7)
For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers. (Proverbs 11:14)
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed (Proverbs 15:22)
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails (Proverbs 19:21)
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe (Proverbs 29:25)
Please pray for me, our Staff Team and our Admin Committee as we work thru all the ideas and refine our plans. Ask that the best ideas will rise to the top, that God would provide for our needs, and that He'd get heaps of glory.

Coming Up....

Starting new churches, employing staff, and building a ministry facility are all bold steps of faith which require wisdom, courage, sacrifice and some serious money!
I thank God for the amazing generosity and sacrifice so many of you have made that have enabled CoastEC to have the impact it has.
If you're not already a financial partner, please prayerfully consider setting up regular direct giving to our church - details are HERE
Please also give generously towards our building fund. You can tag any gifts with 'building'.
Philippians 1:3-7
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart"

LIFE (Oct-Nov)

This is our big evangelistic course run over 4 nights. This year, God willing we're running LIFE at both Hallidays and Forster. Pray for God to provide suitable venues (We're hoping to use Blackhead Bowling Club again, and this year we hope to give Forster bowling club a crack). Ask for boldness for our people to invite their friends. Pray for many to come and check out Life with Jesus, and that they'd respond with faith and repentance. Pray we can do a great job of following them up and ground them in the faith.
