Primary Scripture Teachers.

1. Safe Ministry
   
   
   • CoastEC policy is that at the start of each year all Kids Ministry Team members (including SRE) are required to attend and complete the Safe Ministry Course
   • CoastEC use the following online course as part of that training: www.SafeMinistryTraining.com.au
   • Each year CoastEC provides the Minister's Association of Forster Tuncurry (MAFT) a list of authorised teachers, along with their details. The association submits this list, along with a list of the website links for each participating church, to each of the local schools.
      
     
     
2. Class Room Management
   
   
   • CoastEC policy is that at the start of each year all Kids Ministry Team members (including SRE) are required to attend and complete the CoastEC Class Room Management training.

3. Initial Training
   
   
   • All SRE teachers, before commencing to teach are to complete (or at least commence) SRE accreditation Training. At CoastEC we make use of the following providers:
      
     • Anglican Youthworks: https://www.youthworks.net/sre/sre-accreditation-training
     • Baptist Church: https://www.godspace.org.au/training.html
       • Each year one of the local churches normally hosts the GodSpace training
       • CoastEC also has access to the GodSpace training DVDs that are used in conjunction with our ongoing training
         
           

   • All SRE teachers, under the guidance and direction of the SRE Driver, are to: 

     • familiarise themselves with the Department of Education's:  Code of Conduct and Social Media Policy.
     • familiarise themselves with the Minister's Association of Forster Tuncurry (MAFT) - Code of Conduct.
     • familiarise themselves with the current curriculum and any approved resources.
        
        
4. Ongoing Training
    
   • CoastEC Kids Ministry coordinates a variety of ongoing training for all Kids Ministry Team Members. These include:
      
     • General kids ministry training (run twice a year) for all of the kids ministry team (including SRE)
     • SRE specific on the job training under the supervision of CoastEC's SRE Ministry Driver

6. Complaints Process
    
   • If a parent has a concern or question about SRE they are best to approach their child’s classroom teacher.
   • The Classroom teacher will then contact the SRE teacher or MAFT SRE Co-ordinator to discuss the concern or question:
     • If the concern can be easily resolved, the classroom teacher will inform the parent of the resolution. The SRE teacher is to inform the CoastEC SRE Driver and CoastEC Kids Ministry Pastor of the concern and its resolution. If possible, it is best that this be done within 7 days.
     • If the concern cannot be easily resolved, the SRE teacher will contact the MAFT SRE Co-ordinator and the CoastEC SRE Driver and the CoastEC Kids Ministry Pastor to seek advise. This must be done within 48 hours. It is expected that steps be taken towards resolving the complaint within 7 days.
