About CoastEC:

  • CoastEC is an independent evangelical church in Forster, NSW.

  • The church was planted in 2009.

  • Our desire has always been to reach as many of the 25,000 people living in our region with the gospel as possible.

  • Over the last 14 years we have seen steady growth across our Sunday gatherings and our Kids & Youth ministries.

  • In 2020, we planted an independent church in Taree (Manning Bible Church).

  • We're structured and staffed around Purpose Areas (M's) and Focus Areas (Team Pastoring model).

  • We're a member church of the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches) and we’re working closely with other churches on the mid north coast to plant more churches in larger regional centres.

Overview of the Role:

  • Focus: Kids Ministry

  • Load: 2-3 days a week negotiable (potentially up to 4-5 days a week if additional responsibilities are added, depending on giftedness, capacity, experience and needs of the church).

  • We're seeking a godly and gifted leader to oversee our Kids Ministries

  • Our desire is to see the next generation meeting Jesus, growing to Maturity, serving in Ministry, living on Mission, and connecting as Members in our local church.

  • The Kids Pastor will take responsibility for shaping our strategy, training leaders and teams of volunteers to reach as many of the 1600 primary school students and their families in our region with the gospel as possible.

The current shape of our ministries includes: 

  • Kids Church (4pm Sundays);

  • Kids Club (Salt - yrs 3-6 on Fri arvo's);

  • SRE (primary school, Friday mornings)

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Grow as a disciple of Jesus and help others grow as disciples

  • Uphold, model and teach the Beliefs, Values and Culture of the church

  • Focus the Vision and Strategic priorities of the church by applying them to our Kids Ministries

  • Recruit, train and oversee a growing number of volunteer team leaders and team members (and build amongst them a culture of love, support and encouragement)

  • Develop the teaching curriculum

  • Ensure all children’s ministry programs and leaders comply with safe ministry requirements

  • Partner with parents to make godly and mature disciples of their children by envisioning and resourcing them

  • Envision and equip kids to serve others with their gifts, and to reach out to their mates

  • Oversee all our Kids programs, pathways and systems - making them more effective, and/or developing new initiatives as necessary

  • Effectively manage church resources by operating within the Kids ministry budget

  • Develop the specific skills essential for leading this ministry

We’re looking for someone who:

  • is a mature and godly follower of Jesus

  • has theological training and agrees with CoastEC’s statement of beliefs

  • has ministry experience to kids

  • has a demonstrated ability to lead leaders, train leaders and manage teams,

  • is able to teach and communicate effectively

  • is able to influence people and move them into leadership roles and ministries

  • is able to relate to people of all ages

  • is able to manage their time and responsibilities well
