Being a follower of Jesus is about a growing in your relationship with God.

Like all good relationships, it takes time, effort and good communication.

We speak to God through prayer, and we hear from God as we read His Word, the Bible.

The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to the truth and transforms us from the inside out as we respond with faith (trust) and repentance (turning from sin).

Here are some of our suggestions for 2024…

Choose to do it…

Make it a priority.

Decide on a time & place that will help you focus and avoid distraction.

Prepare yourself…

Come humbly and expect to meet with God.

Be ready to respond with faith and obedience.

Ask God to reveal Himself to you and to help you understand what you read.

Pick a book of THE BIBLE and start reading through it.

Try reading a chapter each time, or until something sticks out to you.

What do you learn about God or Jesus?

What do you learn about humanity, or relating to God, or living God’s way?

Any there any teachings to believe, promises to cling to, commands to obey, or key verses to memorise?

Are there things you don't understand that you could ask another Christian to explain?

Is there a talk on that part of the bible you could listen to HERE?

Decide to put it into action.

How will this part of the bible impact my relationship with God or with other people?

How will this affect what I believe, prioritise or desire?

How will this impact the way I behave?

Thank and praise God for Who He is, what He has done or what He’s revealed to you today.

Confess your sin and repent.

Ask for God’s power to trust and live out what you read.
